Mixed methods research through an ecological systems and intersectional theoretical lens; focus on frontend interventions with police to prevent fatalities, brutality and arrests of Black and Brown young people; and substance use harm reduction curriculum for young people; social justice pedagogy and decolonizing the classroom; performing arts approaches to social justice; critical race, gender, sexuality analysis; and place based cross system approaches to improving wellness outcomes in communities.

Led effort to model decolonizing the classroom fall 2019-spring 2022. Led several meetings, workshops, that culminated into a Social Justice Teaching fellowship for faculty I was appointed to in fall 2021-2022.
Appointed to Diversity and Equity Committee fall 2020-spring 2022. Developed workshops across critical race, gender and sexuality issues related to pedagogy, curriculum, modalities, and institutional policies.

Co-Director Vera Fellow’s Program fall 2014-spring 2022. Liaise with field placements, developed new ones with Vera Institute for Justice, designed Vera Study Abroad from scratch, mediated conflicts between students and placement mentors, conducted promotional sessions to recruit new Fellows, reviewed applications and interviewed candidates, organized special events and provided ongoing academic advisement, career counseling and overall mentorship to current and former Fellows.
Social Justice Certificate Program fall 2018-Now. Work with Dean Dara Byrne and other selected faculty to develop and teach classes for a new social justice track, as well as identify potential professionals in the field of social justice and mentor students. Designed mixed methods evaluation, that included developing and field testing surveys,
obtained IRB, hired and trained CUNY John Jay students as Research Assistants and
continued leading original research about Youth Police Initiative and transported
curriculum to a virtual platform and evaluated pilot virtual training with youth and
police; presented findings to nine superintendents of the London Metropolitan Police.

Administrate all Public Safety juvenile justice reentry program and policy development and implementation; co-authored statewide plan for juvenile justice reentry funded by OJJDP; Conduct research on criminal justice best practices, including writing white paper about batterer treatment, and identify funds through federal, state and county government and private entities; Direct on the ground efforts for Community Opportunities and Reinvestment (CORe) Initiative to address indicia of distress across systems in highest need NYS neighborhoods; develop and execute projects promoting crime prevention through environmental design to open door for CORe in distressed communities; and All projects were reflected in Governor Cuomo’s recent State of the State address.
